Last week in ISM, I had my first mentor visit of this year and the main topic of my discussion with my mentor was about moving backwards from my Original Work. When I talked to my mentor about my Original Work, he told me that he thought I might have rushed to the complexity of cloud computing without going through the basics first. He said it was good train of thought and proper research and modeling, but it had no foundation to explain what was going on in the diagram or expand upon it. To get the right foundation for my final product, my mentor referred a few websites that contain labs and videos to explain networking. He told me that if I could understand networking fundamentals and how AWS networking works, I could get a better understanding of cloud architecture in the future. He also told me that we could work on some HTML script as it is relevant as well to the field and gave me some ideas for my final product revolving around these steps. For my final product. my mentor said that we could create a website from scratch using AWS tools, and he showed me the website that he is still in the process of creating. Overall, my first mentor visit went really well and I have a great path for my final product.
